Asian stock markets settled lower on Thursday as consumer inflation in China slowed to its lowest point in two years.
China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 23.92 points or 0.74 percent to close at 3,216.75. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 280.71 points or 1.18 percent to end at 23,501.56. Singapore's Straits Times declined 26.45 points or 0.84 percent to end at 3,118.84.
South Korea's KOSPI fell 4.35 points or 0.21 percent to end at 2,091.06. Taiwan's TAIEX declined 94.84 points or 0.97 percent to end at 9,658.61.
On the other hand, Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 64.55 points or 0.34 percent to settle at 19,318.58.
