Asian stock markets settled higher on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump offered few economic details in his much-anticipated speech to Congress but, it seems, few disappointments either.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 274.55 points or 1.44 percent to settle at 19,393.54. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite gained 5.20 points or 0.16 percent to close at 3,246.93. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 35.76 points or 0.15 percent to end at 23,776.49.
Singapore's Straits Times went up 26.16 points or 0.84 percent to end at 3,122.77. South Korea's KOSPI rose 6.12 points or 0.29 percent to end at 2,091.64.
On the other hand, Taiwan's TAIEX fell 75.69 points or 0.78 percent to end at 9,674.78.
