Asian stock markets settled higher on Monday, as recent actions by President Donald Trump helped soothe investor worries about ties between the U.S. and its key Asian trading partners.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 80.22 points or 0.41 percent to settle at 19,459.15. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite went up 20.14 points or 0.63 percent to close at 3,216.84. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 136.00 points or 0.58 percent to end at 23,710.98.
Singapore's Straits Times rose 11.24 points or 0.36 percent to end at 3,111.63. South Korea's KOSPI went up 3.57 points or 0.17 percent to end at 2,078.65. Taiwan's TAIEX went up 44.73 points or 0.46 percent to end at 9,710.32.
