Asian stock markets closed higher on Thursday on Wall Street and an overnight bounce in oil prices that bolstered energy and resource shares.
China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite gained 6.62 points or 0.21 percent to close at 3,165.41. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up 322.22 points or 1.46 percent to end at 22,456.69.
Singapore's Straits Times went up 32.83 points or 1.12 percent to end at 2,954.14. Taiwan's TAIEX rose 71.18 points or 0.77 percent to end at 9,358.14.
On the other hand, Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 declined 73.47 points or 0.37 percent to settle at 19,520.69. South Korea's KOSPI declined 3.69 points or 0.18 percent to end at 2,041.95.
