Asian stock markets closed higher on Wednesday, as investors awaited the results of a key meeting of oil producing nations.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 1.44 points or 0.01 percent to settle at 18,308.48. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 32.89 points or 1 percent to close at 3,250.03. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 52.70 points or 0.23 percent to end at 22,789.77.
Singapore's Straits Times went up 24.88 points or 0.86 percent to end at 2,904.02. South Korea's KOSPI went up 5.09 points or 0.26 percent to end at 1,983.48. Taiwan's TAIEX gained 48.33 points or 0.53 percent to end at 9,240.71.
