Asian stock markets are trading higher on Monday. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite went up 17.84 points or 0.55 percent to trade at 3,279.78.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up 109.64 points or 0.48 percent to trade at 22,833.09. Singapore's Straits Times went up 23.94 points or 0.84 percent to trade at 2,883.27.

South Korea's KOSPI rose 3.25 points or 0.16 percent to trade at 1,977.71. Taiwan's TAIEX rose 57.11 points or 0.62 percent to trade at 9,216.18.

On the other hand, Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 143.99 points or 0.78 percent to trade at 18,237.23.
