US stock markets closed higher on Friday, as investors digested indications from the Fed on the timing of a rate hike ahead of earnings season.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average went up 33.74 points or 0.2 percent to settle at 17,084.49. NASDAQ 100 index rose 19.86 points or 0.46 percent to close at 4,370.01.
The broader S&P 500 index rose 1.46 points or 0.07 percent to end at 2,014.89.
