US stock markets closed sharply higher on Friday, as investors reassessed the economic impact from a weaker-than-expected jobs report.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 200.36 points or 1.23 percent to settle at 16,472.37. NASDAQ 100 index went up 74.49 points or 1.78 percent to close at 4,267.45. The broader S&P 500 index gained 27.54 points or 1.43 percent to end at 1,951.36.
