European stock markets are trading lower on Monday as investors assessed monthly gains and speculated on likely stimulus action from the European Central Bank this week.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 declined 13.08 points or 0.37 percent to trade at 3,475.91. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 declined 26.80 points or 0.42 percent to trade at 6,348.35.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX fell 15.50 points or 0.14 percent to trade at 11,278.26. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 21.65 points or 0.44 percent to trade at 4,908.49.
On Friday, European stock markets settled lower. EURO STOXX 50 lost 9.63 points or 0.28 percent to settle at 3,488.99. FTSE 100 fell 17.98 points or 0.28 percent to close at 6,375.15.
