European stock markets settled lower on Thursday as investors paused for breath after fresh record closes on Wall Street in the previous session.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 lost 12.67 points or 0.38 percent to settle at 3,311.04. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 fell 24.49 points or 0.34 percent to close at 7,277.92.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX fell 36.69 points or 0.31 percent to end at 11,757.24. French benchmark index CAC 40 declined 25.40 points or 0.52 percent to end at 4,899.46.
