European stock markets are trading higher on Wednesday before the U.S. Federal Reserve concludes a meeting on monetary policy. Copper led gains in metals while Russia's ruble strengthened.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 went up 8.95 points or 0.25 percent to trade at 3,563.06. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 rose 34.98 points or 0.53 percent to trade at 6,590.26.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX went up 0.78 points or 0.01 percent to trade at 11,174.69. French benchmark index CAC 40 gained 20.86 points or 0.42 percent to trade at 4,998.18.
On Tuesday, European stock markets settled higher. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 gained 41.01 points or 1.15 percent to settle at 3,554.11.
