Rupee trades marginally lower against US dollar

Indian rupee has declined against US dollar on Friday. Local currency declined 2 paise or 0.03 percent against dollar to trade at 67.09.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 67.09 and a low of 67.15. Its 52-week range was 66.07-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, gained 0.13 percent to trade at 16.00.

On Thursday, rupee has fell 17 paise or 0.25 percent against dollar to settle at 67.07.

Local stock markets continued to gain for the second day on Friday. At 9.08 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 366.96 points or 1.30% at 28,668.23 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 108.85 points or 1.24% at 8,886.85 with 35 components gaining.
