Indian rupee has weakened on Friday against US dollar. Indian currency declined 10 paise or 0.16 percent against dollar to trade at 61.97.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 61.88 and a low of 62. Its 52-week range was 58.34-63.31.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, rose 0.58 percent to trade at 88.12.

Swastika Investmart is of the opinion that the rupee may trade on neutral to positive note against the dollar taking cues from upbeat global market sentiments. However, strength in the dollar index may cap sharp gains in the rupee.
