Indian rupee has strengthened against US dollar on Monday. Local currency rose 37 paise or 0.57 percent against dollar to settle at 65.05.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 65.03 and a low of 65.28. Its 52-week range was 65.03-68.86.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, declined 7.53 percent to settle at 7.00.
Local stock markets dropped on Monday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 187.96 points 0.64% to settle at 29233.44. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 62.80 points or 0.69% to settle at 9,045.20.
