Rupee settles 3 paise lower against US dollar at 64.15

   Indian rupee has weakened against US dollar on Wednesday. Local currency declined 3 paise or 0.05 percent against dollar to settle at 64.15.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.14 and a low of 64.33. Its 52-week range was 63.57-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, rose 0.14 percent to settle at 93.98.

Local stock markets ended higher on Wednesday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 321.86 or 1.02% at 31,770.89 with 22 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 103.15 or 1.05% at 9,897.30 with 35 components posting rise.
