Indian rupee has strengthened on Tuesday against US dollar. Indian currency gained 19 paise or 0.30 percent against dollar to settle at 62.49.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 62.50 and a low of 62.66. Its 52-week range was 58.34-63.89.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, went up 0.46 percent to settle at 98.43.
Indian markets erased all its earlier gains and slipped into red to settle slightly lower on Tuesday. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a decline of 18.37 points or 0.07% at 27,957.49, while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat with a decline of 1.30 points or 0.02%, at 8,491.
