Indian rupee has weakened on Friday against US dollar. Local currency fell 22 paise or 0.33 percent against dollar to settle at 66.47.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 66.16 and a low of 66.51. Its 52-week range was 60.20-66.77.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, fell 0.19 percent to settle at 96.22.
Local stock markets continued its downfall in the post noon deals on Friday tracking weak Asian markets. Indian equities dropped on Friday erasing earlier gains.
At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 562.88 or 2.18% at 25,201.90 with 28 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 167.95 or 2.15% at 7,655.05 with 49 components registering drop.
