Indian rupee has depreciated against US dollar on Friday. Local currency fell 19 paise or 0.29 percent against dollar to settle at 66.76.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 66.67 and a low of 66.89. Its 52-week range was 61.30-66.89.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, gained 0.23 percent to settle at 100.02.
Local stock markets settled sharply higher tracking mixed global cues on Friday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 169.57 or 0.65% at 26,128.20 with 20 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 58.90 or 0.75% at 7,942.70 with 34 components registering rise.
