Rupee depreciates 21 paise against dollar in early trade

Indian rupee has depreciated against US dollar in early trade on Friday. Local currency declined 21 paise or 0.32 percent against dollar to trade at 66.78.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 66.68 and a low of 66.81. Its 52-week range was 61.30-66.89.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, gained 0.06 percent to trade at 99.85. On Thursday, rupee has fell 24 paise or 0.36 percent against dollar to settle at 66.57. Local stock markets continued to gain for the second day on Friday. At 9.18 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 53.55 points or 0.21% at 26,012.18 with 19 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 27.20 points or 0.35% at 7,911.00 with 34 components gaining.
