Dollar-rupee futures declined on Monday. USDINR October contract went down 36 paise or 0.55 percent at 65.46 as against previous close of 65.82.
The most active October contract touched a high of 65.5275 and a low of 65.42 after opening at 65.50.
A total of 0.21 million contracts were traded till 09:25 pm. Turnover for October contract was at Rs13.71 billion. Meanwhile, open interest was at 1.21 million.
In spot market, rupee has rose 25 paise or 0.38 percent against dollar to trade at 65.26.
Local stock markets opened sharply higher on Monday tracking positive global cues. At 9.28 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 326.16 points or 1.24% at 26,547.11 with 25 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 157.35 points or 1.98% at 8,108.25 with 42 components gaining.
