Indian markets still trading in negative zone in noon deals on Wednesday on the back of weak global cues. At 12.51 p.m., the Sensex was trading down 55.68 points or 0.20% at 27,475.73 with 14 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 22.90 points or 0.27% at 8,316.45 with 25 components falling.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Axis Bank (1.57%), Coal India (1.52%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.43%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.19%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.19%), and Bharti Airtel (1.16%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (5.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra (2.61%), Infosys (2.38%), Vedanta (1.87%), Wipro (1.28%), and G A I L (India) (1.18%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
The Consumer Durables index was at 10,462.45, up by 80.16 points or by 0.77%. The Bankex index was at 21,195.98, up by 134.48 points or by 0.64%. On the other hand, the Auto index was at 18,669.61, down by 402.4 points or by 2.11%.
Market breadth was negative with 960 advances against 1,265 declines.
