Indian equities erased all its earlier gains and slipped into the negative terrain on Monday. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading below 3-month low. At 11.22 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 104.30 points or 0.38% at 27,333.64 with 21 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 66.25 points or 0.80% at 8,239 with 40 components falling.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Sesa Sterlite (1.98%), NTPC (1.70%), Wipro (0.78%), Tata Motors (0.76%), I T C (0.55%), and I C I C I Bank (0.49%).
On the other hand, Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (2.59%), State Bank Of India (2.45%), Cipla (1.89%), Hero Motocorp (1.88%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.83%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.56%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
The Realty index was at 1,534.06, down by 39.01 points or by 2.48%. The Consumer Durables index was at 10,344.91, down by 197.37 points or by 1.87%. On the other hand, the Power index was at 2,092.80, up by 0.92 points or by 0.04%.
