Indian equities bounced back on Friday snapping earlier losses. At 10.05 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 120.59 points or 0.36% at 33,940.09 with 12 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 34.50 points or 0.33% at 10,417.20 with 20 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (3.94%), Tata Steel (2.70%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (2.52%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.92%), Infosys (0.98%), and Bharti Airtel (0.91%).
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.82%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.53%), Asian Paints (1.44%), Bajaj Auto (1.25%), Tata Motors (0.99%), and Hero Motocorp (0.95%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 992 advances against 767 declines.
Jubilant Life Sciences topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 732.56 million. It was followed by Delta Corp (Rs. 413.03 million), Housing Development Finance Corporation (Rs. 268.51 million) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (Rs. 232.49 million).
The volume chart was led by Uttam Value Steels with trades of over 16.60 million shares. It was followed by Firstsource Solutions (1.22 million), Fortis Healthcare (1.16 million) and Delta Corp (1.16 million).
