Indian equities continued to gain for the third day on Tuesday. At 9.27 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 180.65 points or 0.52% at 35,045.75 with 24 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 58.90 points or 0.56% at 10,571.40 with 40 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Asian Paints (2.64%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (2.07%), ICICI Bank (1.34%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.28%), Hindustan Unilever (1.21%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.20%).
On the other hand, Wipro (0.78%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.29%), Tata Power Company (0.14%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.12%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.11%), and Tata Consultancy Services (0.07%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 994 advances against 214 declines.
Graphite India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 86.00 million. It was followed by Infosys (Rs. 75.84 million), Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs. 67.72 million) and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (Rs. 62.49 million).
The volume chart was led by South Indian Bank , The with trades of over 2.28 million shares. It was followed by Alok Industries (0.97 million), Adani Power (0.40 million) and Andrew Yule and Company (0.33 million).
