Indian equities pared some of its gains in the late morning trade on Friday due to profit booking in select index heavyweights. At 11.28 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 188.77 points or 0.65% at 29,194.79 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 38 points or 0.43% at 8,799.40 with 27 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (3.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra (2.34%), H D F C Bank (2.09%), Tata Motors (1.91%), Larsen & Toubro (1.80%), and Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.77%).
On the other hand, G A I L (India) (2.04%), Infosys (0.66%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.63%), Coal India (0.62%), Hindalco Industries (0.56%), and Tata Consultancy Services (0.48%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap index declined 0.38% and 0.71% respectively. On sectoral front, the BSE capital goods gained the most followed by Auto and Bankex.
