Indian markets traded flat on Friday erasing earlier gains. At 1.07 p.m, the Sensex was trading down 32.20 points or 0.11% at 28,740.93 with 13 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 3.60 points or 0.04% at 8,863.85.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Axis Bank (4.12%), Tata Motors (0.96%), ICICI Bank (0.74%), ITC (0.67%), Tata Power Company (0.66%), and Hindustan Unilever (0.57%).
On the other hand, Reliance Industries (0.95%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.93%), Cipla (0.83%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.82%), Asian Paints (0.73%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (0.63%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,226 advances against 1,106 declines.
Tata Consultancy Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,009.81 million. It was followed by Gujarat Pipavav Port (Rs. 779.07 million), Bharat Financial Inclusion (Rs. 777.65 million) and Ramco Cements , The (Rs. 659.96 million).
The volume chart was led by G T L Infrastructure with trades of over 9.59 million shares. It was followed by Gujarat Pipavav Port (4.50 million), Birla Cotsyn (India) (3.33 million) and Spicejet (2.79 million).
