Indian markets ended flat on Friday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a decline of 6.78 points or 0.02% at 36,541.63, 17 components posting drop. while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat with a decline of 4.30 points or 0.04%, at 11,018.90.36 components posting drop.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.80%), Axis Bank (2.48%), ITC (2.29%), State Bank Of India (1.96%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.72%), and ICICI Bank (1.60%).
On the other hand, Reliance Industries (1.34%), Infosys (1.12%), Bajaj Auto (1.02%), Asian Paints (0.98%), Coal India (0.96%), and Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.88%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 697 advances against 1,652 declines.
AU Small Finance Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 2,154.39 million. It was followed by Reliance Industries (Rs. 958.87 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 806.28 million) and Jindal Steel & Power (Rs. 607.29 million).
The volume chart was led by Reliance Communications with trades of over 7.39 million shares. It was followed by IDBI Bank (6.37 million), Lloyds Steels Industries (5.76 million) and AU Small Finance Bank (3.40 million).
