Indian markets continued to rally for the sixth day on Thursday. At 11.43 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 103.00 points or 0.36% at 28,967.71 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 36.95 points or 0.41% at 8,963.85 with 36 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (4.71%), Tata Consultancy Services (2.25%), Infosys (1.71%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.38%), Tata Power Company (1.13%), and Wipro (1.09%).
On the other hand, Reliance Industries (1.37%), NTPC (0.90%), Axis Bank (0.89%), ICICI Bank (0.65%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.32%), and Hindustan Unilever (0.27%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,206 advances against 1,020 declines.
Maruti Suzuki India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 818.62 million. It was followed by I C I C I Bank (Rs. 764.53 million), Bharat Financial Inclusion (Rs. 657.37 million) and Reliance Industries (Rs. 605.15 million).
The volume chart was led by Suzlon Energy with trades of over 5.98 million shares. It was followed by Reliance Communications (4.42 million), Spicejet (4.21 million) and Idea Cellular (3.60 million).
