Indian markets pared most of its gains in the post noon deals on Friday. At 2.33 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 171.60 points or 0.67% at 27,025.41 with 28 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 43.75 points or 0.54% at 8,173.10 with 46 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Vedanta (11.04%), Tata Steel (4.14%), Tata Motors (3.18%), I C I C I Bank (2.75%), Hindalco Industries (2.62%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.43%).
On the other hand, Coal India (2.5%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.36%), Hindustan Unilever (0.97%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.85%), and BHEL (0.37%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,268 advances against 1,130 declines.
