Indian markets continued to rise for the fourth day on Wednesday. At 9.42 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 48.27 points or 0.13% at 36,287.89 with 23 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 6.95 points or 0.06% at 10,954.20 with 32 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bajaj Auto (3.62%), Wipro (2.68%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.41%), Reliance Industries (2.38%), Axis Bank (2.17%), and Tata Consultancy Services (1.76%).
On the other hand, Hero Motocorp (2.19%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.84%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.78%), Tata Power Company (0.75%), Dr Reddy`S Laboratories (0.46%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.25%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 931 advances against 403 declines.
Housing Development Finance Corporation topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 413.04 million. It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (Rs. 315.48 million), R*Shares Liquid BeES (Rs. 191.47 million) and IDBI Bank (Rs. 143.92 million).
The volume chart was led by IDBI Bank with trades of over 2.54 million shares. It was followed by Vakrangee (1.96 million), GVK Power & Infrastructure (1.45 million) and I V R C L (0.64 million).
