Indian equities continued to rally for the fifth day on Wednesday. At 9.40 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 40.29 points or 0.13% at 32,198.95 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 11.70 points or 0.12% at 10,104.75 with 29 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Power Company (6.36%), Reliance Industries (1.79%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.45%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.17%), and Tata Motors (0.89%).
On the other hand, ITC (1.08%), Larsen & Toubro (0.82%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.64%), HDFC Bank (0.42%), Tata Steel (0.40%), and Cipla (0.38%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 981 advances against 550 declines.
IRB InvIT Fund topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by Tata Power Company (Rs. 167.65 million), Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs. 145.01 million) and JSW Energy (Rs. 144.56 million).
The volume chart was led by SBI SDFS - 90 Days - 60 - Dividend with trades of over 3.79 million shares. It was followed by Tata Power Company (1.95 million), Jaiprakash Associates (1.93 million) and JSW Energy (1.83 million).
