Sensex falls over 200 points; Nifty trades at 11,011

Indian markets continued to decline for the second day on Friday. At 10.16 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 206.09 points or 0.56% at 36,765.00 with 24 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 57.65 points or 0.52% at 11,011.75 with 39 components falling.

Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (17.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.59%), ICICI Bank (1.56%), State Bank Of India (1.41%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.22%).

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.30%), Hero Motocorp (0.62%), Tata Power Company (0.58%), Bajaj Auto (0.51%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.27%), and NTPC (0.22%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.

Market breadth was negative with 635 advances against 881 declines.

Tata Consultancy Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,648.30 million. It was followed by Tata Motors (Rs. 523.85 million), Reliance Infrastructure (Rs. 400.25 million) and Reliance Industries (Rs. 319.82 million).

The volume chart was led by Reliance Power with trades of over 6.65 million shares. It was followed by Reliance Communications (5.34 million), Tata Motors (3.47 million) and Reliance Infrastructure (3.45 million).
