Indian markets ended higher on Thursday. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a rise of 26.53 points or 0.08% at 33,588.08, 9 components registering rise. while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat with a gain of 6.45 points or 0.06%, at 10,348.75.18 components registering rise.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Infosys (2.60%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.78%), Reliance Industries (1.60%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.04%), Axis Bank (0.78%), and Hero Motocorp (0.47%).
On the other hand, Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (2.10%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.65%), Bajaj Auto (1.52%), Asian Paints (1.12%), NTPC (0.94%), and Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.88%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,340 advances against 1,150 declines.
Syngene International topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,684.52 million. It was followed by Aptech (Rs. 654.70 million), Jai Corp (Rs. 653.84 million) and Reliance Industries (Rs. 523.30 million).
The volume chart was led by Birla Power Solutions with trades of over 12.09 million shares. It was followed by Sam Leaseco (4.22 million), Jai Corp (4.05 million) and Praj Industries (3.86 million).
