Sensex ends 209 points higher; Nifty settles at 10,843-level

Indian equities ended higher on Monday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 209.05 or 0.59% at 35,692.52. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty rose by 55.90 or 0.52% at 10,842.85.

Major gainers in the 30-share index were Dr Reddy's Laboratories (5.23%), State Bank Of India (3.36%), Hindustan Unilever (2.41%), Hero Motocorp (2.11%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.74%), and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.65%).

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel (1.98%), Tata Steel (1.52%), Coal India (1.49%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.10%), Tata Power Company (0.83%), and Axis Bank (0.61%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
