Indian markets ended lower on Monday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 151.45 or 0.41% at 36,395.03 with 18 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 54.80 or 0.50% at 10,888.80 with 36 components registering drop.

Major losers in the 30-share index were Mahindra & Mahindra (5.31%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.54%), Reliance Industries (1.87%), and State Bank Of India (1.84%).

On the other hand, Tata Steel (2.31%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.36%), Maruti Suzuki India (0.79%), Tata Motors (0.76%), and Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.71%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.

Market breadth was negative with 764 advances against 1,522 declines.

Yes Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 587.10 million. It was followed by NTPC (Rs. 432.94 million), Reliance Capital (Rs. 423.65 million) and Reliance Industries (Rs. 414.82 million).

The volume chart was led by Reliance Power with trades of over 10.31 million shares. It was followed by Reliance Communications (6.05 million), PC Jeweller (3.52 million) and Yes Bank (3.40 million).
