Indian equities continued to drop for the fourth day on Friday. At 11.31 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 305.79 points or 0.94% at 32,064.25 with 26 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 119.70 points or 1.18% at 10,002.20 with 48 components falling.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were ICICI Bank (2.25%), Infosys (2.22%), Tata Steel (2.06%), Coal India (1.85%), Tata Power Company (1.80%), and GAIL (India) (1.77%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (1.49%), Cipla (0.68%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.63%), and Wipro (0.45%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 480 advances against 1,635 declines.
I T I topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 363.35 million. It was followed by Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company (Rs. 327.98 million), H D F C Bank (Rs. 324.23 million) and Divis Laboratories (Rs. 320.52 million).
The volume chart was led by Jaiprakash Associates with trades of over 3.54 million shares. It was followed by Jaiprakash Power Ventures (3.12 million), I T I (2.60 million) and Reliance Communications (2.12 million).
