Indian equities continue to trade higher on Friday led by sharp fall in brent crude. At 2.39 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 315.83 points or 1.11% at 28,754.74 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 108.70 points or 1.28% at 8,602.90 with 39 components gaining.
The Banking index climbed the most with a gain of 2.91% followed by Auto (2.19%) and Realty (2.04%). SBI, Tata Motors, Axis Bank and M&M were major gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand SSTL, Bharti Airtel, Cipla and TCS were top losers in the benchmark index.
The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts gaining 1.09% and 0.67% respectively. Overall market breadth was positive with 1,606 advances against 1,363 declines.
Shares of Just Dial witnessed a jump of 2.03% today after the Reserve Bank of India increased the investment limit for overseas investors.
