Indian equities are trading sharply higher in the post noon deals on Tuesday on account of heavy buying interest seen across board. All sectoral indices are trading in green with metals, banks, auto and financials leading the space.
At 2 p.m., the Sensex was trading higher 1,085.55 points or 1.91% at 57,791.49 with 10 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 314.85 points or 1.86% at 17,227.10 with 22 components posting rise.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were ICICI Bank (3.99%), Axis Bank (3.70%), Tata Steel (3.42%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (3.16%), Maruti Suzuki (2.85%), Bajaj Finance (2.77%) and State Bank of India (2.49%).
On the other hand, Asian Paints (0.24%) and Dr Reddy’s (0.08%) were the only two losers in the Sensex. Market breadth is positive with 2,326 advances against 908 declines.
