Indian markets dropped on Thursday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 114.94 or 0.32% at 35,432.39 with 19 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 30.95 or 0.29% at 10,741.10 with 31 components posting drop.
Mahindra & Mahindra (2.11%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.90%), Power Grid Corporation of India (1.88%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
On the other hand, biggest gainers in the 30-share index were I C I C I Bank (1.47%), Reliance Industries (1.22%), and H D F C Bank (0.35%).
Market breadth was negative with 871 advances against 1,509 declines.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 20,337.54 million. It was followed by R*Shares Liquid BeES (Rs. 1,603.08 million), Reliance Industries (Rs. 458.70 million) and Tata Steel (Rs. 310.66 million).
The volume chart was led by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone with trades of over 55.44 million shares. It was followed by KSK Energy Ventures (6.90 million), Himachal Futuristic Communications (2.81 million) and R*Shares Liquid BeES (1.60 million).
