Indian rupee has declined against US dollar on Friday. Local currency fell 5 paise or 0.08 percent against dollar to settle at 64.61.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.55 and a low of 64.67. Its 52-week range was 64.16-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, rose 5.26 percent to settle at 2.00.

Local stock markets ended lower on Friday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 57.09 or 0.19% at 29,365.30 with 21 components registering drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 17.00 or 0.19% at 9,119.40 with 36 components registering drop.
