Indian rupee has strengthened against US dollar on Friday. Local currency rose 5 paise or 0.08 percent against dollar to settle at 64.58.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.58 and a low of 64.84. Its 52-week range was 63.93-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, went up 0.10 percent to settle at 95.73.

Local stock markets ended higher on Friday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 64.09 or 0.21% at 30,921.61 with 10 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 16.80 or 0.18% at 9,520.90 with 23 components registering rise.
