Indian rupee has gained against US dollar on Thursday. Local currency went up 2 paise or 0.03 percent against dollar to settle at 67.18.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 67.17 and a low of 67.27. Its 52-week range was 63.64-68.79.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, declined 0.17 percent to settle at 97.03.

Local stock markets ended lower on Thursday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 205.37 points or 0.74% to settle at 27,710.52 with 25 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 55.75 points or 0.65% to settle at 8,510.10 with 38 components registering drop.
