Gold and Silver closed higher in futures market on Monday to mark a third straight session gain, with uncertainty ahead of President Donald Trump’s address to Congress Tuesday evening helping to boost the metal's appeal as a haven investment.

Gold futures rose 0.50 dollar or 0.04 percent to close at USD 1,258.80 per troy ounce at the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Silver futures went up 0.012 dollar or 0.07 percent to close at USD 18.39 per troy ounce at the COMEX.
