Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 9.88 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on May 19, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 47.15 billion and sold equities worth Rs 57.04 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 3.49 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 33.44 billion and sold equities worth Rs 29.95 billion.
Local stock markets ended flat on Friday snapping earlier losses. At the close, the 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex ended flat with a rise of 30.13 points or 0.10% at 30,464.92, 14 components posting rise. while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat with a decline of 1.55 points or 0.02%, at 9,427.90 with 33 components posting drop.
