Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 5.77 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on March 27, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 92.00 billion and sold equities worth Rs 86.22 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 5.94 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 26.16 billion and sold equities worth Rs 32.10 billion.
Local stock markets dropped on Monday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 187.96 points 0.64% to settle at 29233.44. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 62.80 points or 0.69% to settle at 9,045.20.
