Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 2.92 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on June 27, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 72.31 billion and sold equities worth Rs 69.39 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 1.48 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 28.99 billion and sold equities worth Rs 30.48 billion.
Local stock markets ended lower on Tuesday. Both Sensex and Nifty traded below 1-month low. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 179.96 or 0.58% at 30,958.25 with 21 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 63.55 or 0.66% at 9,511.40 with 39 components posting drop.
