Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 818.8 million on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on May 24, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 59.43 billion and sold equities worth Rs 58.61 billion.
Similarly, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 1.97 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 31.64 billion and sold equities worth Rs 29.67 billion.
Local stock markets ended lower on Wednesday. At close, the Sensex was trading down 63.61 points or 0.21% at 30,301.64 with 22 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 25.60 points or 0.27% at 9,360.55 with 42 components falling.
