Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 6.50 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on October 5, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 52.03 billion and sold equities worth Rs 45.53 billion.
Also, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 3.66 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 24.09 billion and sold equities worth Rs 20.43 billion.
Local stocks market ended sharply higher on Monday, extending the rally for fourth day on the back of positive global cues. Both Sensex and Nifty traded above 1-month high. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 564.60 points or 2.15% at 26,785.55. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 168.40 points or 2.12% at 8,119.30.
