Indian equities bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading above 2-month high. At 10.17 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 63.91 points or 0.19% at 34,479.49 with 12 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 23.65 points or 0.22% at 10,587.70 with 25 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Consultancy Services (3.54%), State Bank Of India (1.18%), Bharti Airtel (1.09%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.04%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.99%), and Axis Bank (0.82%).
On the other hand, Tata Power Company (1.28%), Hero Motocorp (1.09%), HDFC Bank (1.02%), Coal India (1.01%), ICICI Bank (0.96%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.71%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,027 advances against 733 declines.
Tata Consultancy Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 558.61 million. It was followed by H D F C Bank (Rs. 278.30 million), MindTree (Rs. 213.54 million) and N I I T Technologies (Rs. 206.85 million).
The volume chart was led by Idea Cellular with trades of over 2.22 million shares. It was followed by Reliance Communications (1.30 million), N I I T (1.10 million) and IDBI Bank (1.00 million).
