Indian markets continued to drop for the second day on Wednesday. At 9.35 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 258.20 points or 0.71% at 35,876.11 with 27 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 63.05 points or 0.58% at 10,806.45 with 43 components falling.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (1.96%), Tata Steel (1.45%), ITC (1.31%), Infosys (1.21%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.12%), and Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.12%).
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.99%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.68%), NTPC (0.45%), and Asian Paints (0.09%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 369 advances against 794 declines.
3M India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by Axis Bank (Rs. 1,783.80 million), Can Fin Homes (Rs. 177.64 million) and Yes Bank (Rs. 99.73 million).
The volume chart was led by Reliance Communications with trades of over 3.64 million shares. It was followed by Axis Bank (2.88 million), Jaiprakash Associates (0.72 million) and Adani Power (0.70 million).
